Through The Eyes Of The Archer

Home Of Archery

Welcome to the Home of Archery

Home of Archery is an Archery school that teachers and promotes Traditional Archery.
We are arguably one of the most efficient in educating and establishing the sunnah sport of archery . We equip our archers with the necessary skills in 3D and field archery as well as encourage discipline. . At Home of Archery, our aim is to restore the forgotten art of Traditional Archery, using traditional and handmade equipment. Targets are placed to create an atmosphere that allows our students to experience Traditional Archery. This transports them back to a time where archery was an occupation and an age-old sport that developed a multitude of skills such as flexibility, strength, focus and dedication.
The mark of a good archer is physical prowess, mental endurance, stamina… and hitting the bull’s eye. Acquiring these skills in order to become an accomplished archer requires dedication and practice. We aim to turn our young archers into South Africa’s finest shooters, by building them up and instilling in them all the benefits that archery has to offer.
Home of Archery has male and female instructors. Our chief instructors were trained by Dr Dietmar and Karin Vordereggor from Austria. Dr Dietmar and Karin Vordereggor are experts in Traditional Archery. Dietmar is a 2-time world champion and 5-time European champion. Karin was rated the best female archer in the world, ten years in a row. Our chief instructors are NASP qualified as well and have earned their South African provincial and national colours in Traditional Archery.

Our Bows

We provide all the required archery equipment needed for our class structures. Home of Archery is a manufacturer of bows in South Africa. We manufacture our own bows and we supply all Traditional Archery accessories and equipment around South Africa. Our custom bows are built according to the individuals design. Our custom bows are built using exotic woods. The types of bows we build include the Celeri Hybrid, the Shadow Stalker, the Firefox, and the Shadow Stalker Inter-champion. We specialise in building long bows, hybrids, recurves, flat bows and horse bows.

The Shadow Stalker Inter-champion is Home of Archery’s bestselling competition bow.
Standed bows are made up for just a single piece of hard wood. But the custom bow are all build from exotic woods.
All of our Shadow Stalker Inter-champions are reinforced with giraffe bone and animal horn or customer’s may choose a different material. The Shadow Stalker Inter-champion has g10 infused inside the bow. The g10 provides extra weight that gives stability to the shooter. We try and keep our bows as traditional as possible. As there is a demand nowadays for bows to be aesthetically impressive and unique , we have started to build the Shadow Stalker Inter-champion R, where resin is infused into the handle.

We also have 3 club competitions yearly.
